TBR for Women’s History Month

I have been finding so many brilliant things at my used bookstore lately, and in March I think I’m going to see how many of the ones by women I can get off my TBR shelf. This is also part of my reading “theme” for this year, which can essentially be described as Just Fucking Read It Already. Most of these have been on my list longer than I can remember, and all but three are ones I actually own; the Alice Walker and Marion Zimmer Bradley are titles I’ve never heard of by authors I definitely have. I’m really looking forward to all of them—especially the Angela Davis, which I feel like I’m constantly looking for and can never find, so I just finally requested it through interlibrary loan.

A great theme for march. I hadn’t seen the cover of the one with the huge sunflower! Look forward to review (and title) of that one!!

I have to admit, I’m really enjoying people’s reactions to the title. 🙂 I’m only a couple pages in and getting suspicious that it’s going to be a lot of gender essentialism—which, now that I think of it, I probably should have realized because of the title. But we’ll see how it goes.

Perhaps a little like the book “I Love Dick”, which took me ages to clock how that might be interpreted on the train! My gender essentialism… hmmm… not sure how I would go with that.
